Patients

PainTheory is a free service offered by top-tier interventional pain doctors who want to provide their patients with the best patient education and customer experience possible. We help people understand what’s causing their pain, learn about treatment options, find the right type of provider, and even schedule visits.

Yep, PainTheory is 100% free for patients. It is our pleasure to help those who are experiencing pain find solutions.

At PainTheory, we only work with interventional pain specialists who are fellowship-trained in pain medicine and offer a wide range of treatment options, outside of medication managment.

Partner providers must be referred to us by at least two other physicians within their same field. Finally, PainTheory partner providers must be reviewed and approved by our internal medical advisory board.

We are actively working to add more providers across more specialties throughout numerous cities in the United States.

PainTheory currently partners with providers in Denver, Colorado and Walnut Creek, California. We’re expanding to more cities in 2020.

The providers listed on the PainTheory website pay PainTheory a flat monthly fee to create educational content, chat with patients, and offer guidance for finding pain treatments.

If you are in extreme pain, call 911 or seek immediate treatment from a trained medical professional.

Two brothers, Kevin DePopas and Dr. Eric DePopas, started PainTheory in 2018 to help people understand their treatment options for pain.

Using the educational resources on the PainTheory website and chatting with PainTheory patient coordinators is 100% free. If you decide to schedule a visit with one of our partner providers, their clinics accept insurance just like any other doctor. Prior to scheduling, please view each provider’s PainTheory profile to confirm they accept your insurance.

Providers

In addition to helping patients understand their pain and find providers, we also aim to create value for providers by offering a means to maintain healthy practice volume. If you would like to become a PainTheory provider, please contact support@paintheory.com. After reviewing your request, we will need to obtain references from at least two of your peers who have worked with you in a clinical capacity.
